Media is dying? Then why are all these new pubs launching...
Plus, BI's top PR people for influencers (but does anyone in jobs this cool read our newsletter?)
Phew. It’s a week for new publication after new publication. Granted, some our newsletters (and one is a podcast) but still. All provide potential opportunities to pitch in the future. Here’s what we got:
Karlie Kloss and Josh Kushner are relaunching LIFE Magazine. Bet this one wasn’t in your 2024 bingo cards. Why, you may ask? Why not! “We see LIFE as an uplifting and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape” that will “blend culture, current events and everyday life.” TBD on when this is actually happening, but we’l keep an eye on opportunities to launch after it’s live.
Robinhood launched its news outlet Sherwood News and a rebrand of its financial newsletter Snacks. Sherwood is a separate entity from Robinhood, so you can pitch them like a normal news outlet. Their first verticals include: markets, business, tech, crypto, power, world, personal finance and culture. Reporters joining: Bloomberg’s Luke Kawa, CoinDesk’s Toby Bochan, New York Times and Axios’ Matt Phillips, and Gawker’s Leah Finnegan.
We love pitching Anthony Pompliano’s Pomp Podcast, so great to see his media network expanding!
Former TechCruncher Jacquelyn Melanie is launching a publication called Token Relations as a part of his media network.
